Sound Hole

009 — Circle

Today's assignment from the book "Vision 365: Mastering the Everyday Practice of Seeing": photograph a circle.

Busy day looking after Elowyn and Melinda. Found the practice of 'seeing circles' to be quite relaxing. To notice them in everyday life, where they occur and the variations. It's not too hard to filter out the non-essential to leave behind only what you are looking for. Useful but it may result in missing other photographic opportunities that present themselves during the day. I assume the practice is to be comfortable with identifying light, shapes, patterns and other structure more easily so that when an opportunity presents itself the mind can more easily process these factors into the moment to create a stronger image.

That all said, I shot today's image late on the evening in a rush before heading to bed. Not sure I'm comfortable with it as the subject (the circular sound hole in the ukulele) is perhaps not clear to the viewer as being the subject.
