Hello Goodbye

Hello: Ten years ago yesterday Steve Jobs introduced the iPhone.
Goodbye: Today Barack Obama gave his Farewell Address to the nation.

I interrupted watching Steve's razzle-dazzle salesmanship on my laptop to watch Obama on my iPhone. While I was watching the President, I took a few pictures of him with my phone—without interrupting his speech.
When the speech was over, I propped up my iPhone against the laptop screen because I thought it would be funny to show Steve Jobs extolling his new invention together with an example of its magic. Then I realized that I couldn't take the picture because my only camera was in the phone!

About the iPhone: Steve Jobs said this little device—"the internet in your pocket"—was going to change the world. And it did.

About the Farewell Address: Barack Obama said we have to work hard at being united as citizens in order to preserve our democracy. And we do. Otherwise, it's Hello Goodbye.
