"I want THAT one!"

Like other photographic workshops I have been on, this one is so busy and intensive that I barely have time to backup my images to the laptop, never mind review them.  As a result my blips wil be a quick choice from the day's images, not necessarily the best shot or even the most interesting shot that I have taken during the day.

After an early breakfast, we left the hotel at 7am to visit the Kan Duw Gyi lake, a man-made lake in Yangon with a boardwalk around one side.  There were lots of locals out doing their early morning stretching exercises.  It was a pleasant stroll, with an attractive cafe at the end for a good coffee.

After that came one of the elements of the trip I had been particularly looking forward to - a trip on the circular railway line which goes all the way around Yangon, taking 3 or 4 hours to do the complete loop.  It is a slow train, with lots of stops where people jump on and off.  The passengers included monks, tourists, and local people as well as vendors of food and fruit, drinks, SIM cards and other items,  One of the passengers boarded with 8 or 10 white sacks containing (judging by the smell) fish products.  We didn't do the full loop, just about an hour, ending up at an open air market where this blip was taken.  I was impressed not just by the quantity of eggs on sale here, but the variety of eggs (many different colours and different sizes).

After an excellent lunch at a local restaurant selling food typical of the area (mainly curries) and a couple of hours when our photographic tutor, Gary Latham, offered a basic explanation of camera operation to the less experienced photographers (and I wandered around the street to take a few more pictures), we visited the amazing Schwedagon Pagoda, taking photographs there until the sun had set and the place was illuminated just by artificial light,

A very enjoyable day,
