A postcard from ..........

Because of the weight restraints on hand luggage I wasn't able to bring my zoomiest lens so this was taken, from a fair old way away, with my Tamron 18-200mm lens and then cropped to within an inch of it's life - not perfect but not too bad at all.

It is some kind of bee eater - possibly a Chestnut Headed Bee Eater or maybe a Blue Tailed Bee Eater (juvenile??) - my bee eater knowledge is minimal to say the least!!
Whichever, whatever it was beautiful.

A birdie day today as you get a common house crow (a very handsome common house crow) sitting on a boat strut in the extras.

At four in the morning on Monday I leave for a two day trip "up country" so there may be on-the-day blips or there may not - depends on whether I have room for the laptop and if there is wi-fi available.
