A Wintry Walk

This was our walk back from a trip out in the city.  We went to the cinema to see La La Land.  Which is alright.  The opening scene reminded me a LOT of Farah Khan's Main Hoon Na and the song Chale Jaine Hawaien.  Not that surprising give that Farah Khan loves American movies.

It was good to be back in a cinema.  It was even better that it was the original version.  I don't do dubbing.  If it turns out that the cinema does a regular OV Version at Sunday lunchtimes, I think we'll be regulars.

Oh and it was good (guilty pleasure moment) to hear this again.

After the film we took a bus to Frauenstein and walked back home.  There had been quite a bit of fresh snow and it was good to have a wander in the really fresh air.

And here it's time for your German word of the day.  That sound you make as you walk through snow has a German verb - knirschen. Remember to pronounce that "ke" and then the "nirschen".

German doesn't do silent letters in words.  The company Knorr is K-Norr, "a knee" ist "ein K-nie".
