A successful day

Today was Manda's day to go wedding dress shopping, and I was thrilled to be going along with her, niece Sarah, and my sister, Endless Weekend.  We started with brunch at the Georgian Room of the Fairmont Olympic Hotel, one of Seattle's oldest and grandest.  It is an open and gracious room with huge chandeliers and a sumptuous buffet display (see extras; that's Manda seated behind the buffet.)

After brunch we headed out to the first salon where we had an appointment, and Manda tried on several lovely dresses.  Here you see her in one of my favorites, which was high on the list.  In the end, she chose an exquisite dress that will be just perfect for her August wedding; her face just lit up when she put it on.  It turns out that, in a wedding dress, she wears a size 00!  We also visited the Wedding Suite at Nordstrom, where she tried on quite a few more elaborate gowns and really liked a few, but that first dress remained her favorite.   So we went back and purchased it, and celebrated with a champagne toast provided by the store.

It was a joyful day and I felt privileged to be a part of it.
