Ice holiday

Still very cold but delightful to be out in the winter sunshine. The streetcar stop wouldn't be coming for 19 minutes, so I walked downtown. The sidewalks were mostly clear, but the roadways were covered with a solid sheet of ice. It was slow going, but rather fun. I only slipped once. :)

Clockwise from upper left:
1. Ice, far as the eye can see.
2. At least they shoveled the sidewalk.
3. NW 10th & Couch. The grey road is actually solid ice.
4. Icy Jamison Square, deserted on a freezing afternoon.

Today is a national holiday remembering Martin Luther King, Jr.
This is a quote from his Nobel Peace Prize acceptance speech,
a good thought on the eve of a transfer of power.

"Peace is more precious than diamonds or silver or gold."
