Beauty Upon Beauty

Drove the almost two hours to Mourão today to see if we could find somewhere to rent until our land is sorted. Sr Joaquim (owner of land) chanced upon us and was so kind, as were others, traipsing round asking folk - no, sorry, already rented/going to be decorated/only long term rents...  Eventually, we gave up, surprised it was so difficult, when the phone rang - it was Sr Joaquim - could we meet him again?

In a corner of one bar we'd asked in, sat a man who overheard - the local priest ... the owner of the bar flagged down Sr Joaquim... we ended up looking round the top floor of the priest's house - and agreed tonight to rent - so, anytime we like, we can move to Mourão - and share a washing machine, three dogs and a pot-bellied pig with Pe Luís, who has been a priest for five years, comes from Cabeção in this freguesia, and seems a great guy...

Had a walk round "our" land again (heck, I hope it will be!), saw two flowering almond trees like shining pink clouds on the neighbouring land, and then sat on the castle bulwarks, watching the sun set over the Alqueva Lake.
