Engulfed

I caught the last of the morning sunshine on my walk round Ferry Meadows. After two days of grey sky and rain, I revelled in the colours - the straw-coloured remains of last summer's grass, golden oak leaves still hanging on a branch, the vivid yellow-green of lichen on twigs. But all too soon the cottonwool clouds engulfed the blue sky, and the colour drained away.
