Early morning sky, edge of Felbrigg Great Wood

There was a marvellous early morning sky today; had I been up a little earlier I would have got some even better shots but I just caught the tail end of it in my dressing gown!
The sky was lit in hues of pink, peach and gold which faded as I looked at them and were soon gone.

It reminded me of a favourite poem by Robert Frost:

Nothing Gold Can Stay

Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

Robert Frost, 1874-1963
