The Paps of Jura

A frustrating "waste" of a Sunday. Our next site is so remote and difficult to get to that we need to leave the day before in order to start at a reasonable time on Monday morning.
I have traded the convenience of taking my own fully loaded car for the speed of the direct passenger only crossing from Tavallich to Craighouse on Jura and just like at Knoydart on Friday piled a heap of survey kit from jetty on to the wee boat. The crossing was well under an hour. Compare this with a two hour Calmac crossing Kennacraig to Port Ellen, the drive across Islay to Port Askaig and then the small Islay to Jura ferry.

More to the point we got this lovely view of the early evening Paps as the wee rib charged its way to Craighouse.
