Hit the ground running

Well, walking, anyway. As they left yesterday evening, R and H said, "Coming on the walk tomorrow? We'll pick you up at quarter to ten." OK ... why not? So this morning, along with ten other people and two dogs, we headed down to Castillo de Baños for a short walk up to a watchtower, over the hills and back down, handily finishing at a bar at midday for beer and tapas. It was perfect walking weather, rather overcast but with patches of blue sky and a balmy 8C. I loved the patchy light on the sea, not done justice in this minimalist pic. We also saw a herd of ibex (see extra) -- hard to catch with the little camera.

At home we had a minimalist lunch of tuna sandwiches, followed by a wander round Vélez to take in the main landmarks. Plenty of blipportunities here. The weather had actually improved; it was beautifully sunny and warm. Stocked up with more food, we are now ready for another evening around the gas heater.
