Evening Star over Blackcap

From Cornwell's Bank: Venus aligned almost directly over the clump on the summit of Blackcap at 16:59 this evening, 37 minutes after the sun disappeared behind the ridge of the South Downs between Ditchling Beacon and the 'Jack and Jill' Windmills, some distance to the west.

Today's 'Extras' show the glow on the horizon at 16:44, more or less in the direction of the Sun's disappearance; and an earlier shot, taken a few hundred metres away alongside Cinder Hill at 15:41, showing the mistiness of the landscape around 40 minutes before sunset.
