Five pumps in Hoho, Mzimba

18th January 2017:

This pump is in the Mzimba district, Nkhitutu area and VakobePhakato village, 137 km from out factory.
Alfred went with Benjamin and they brought Miriam our head of preschools to talk to the women about preschools, and other matters.

As with most villages here the wells are deep, this one being 13.8 meters (46 feet deep!) and even at that there was only 1.9 meters of water but it is the driest period of the year

130 villagers will use the water and the furthest walk will be 100 meters

The villagers were so happy with the short distance to walk instead of up to 8 kilometres to the open well. The Gogos (old women)  were singing and dancing
The preschool caregivers asked for training, and Miriam is the expert.
