goodbye to wolfe island

The dogs don't seem to mind!
Their only question was, 'where's dad?' See how intent they are looking for his whereabouts! Steven was closing up the cottage before we took off last Tuesday. Asia and Chloe would not settle down until Steven was in the driver's seat. ; 0 )

Actually, we left a few days earlier than we'd planned. All of the relatives had gone and it was very quiet. The temps at the time were on the cooler side -I was wearing a sweater! We had already done tons of boating on the St Lawrence River and truthfully, we both missed our home life. We did have a wonderful time visiting with relatives, this is true. Wolfe Island is a very beautiful place to visit . . . but this visit was different for us than any previous ones. It was definitely a long 3-day drive from FL to Canada and then back again. We used to drive just 6 hrs from Connecticut and be there! We did fine with the long drive, actually great - but it was tiring and I am just recovering 2 days after our return.

Steven and I found out we still love visiting Wolfe Island, but 2 weeks is long enough and 3 weeks is really too long! We were there a little over 2 weeks and were gone from home for a total of about 3 weeks. I will remember our time there fondly, but I don't think we will go next summer . . . maybe 2 or 3 years from now. In the meantime we plan on exploring more of Florida.
