Above And Beyond...

Springbrook Mountain

One of the places that was suggested by Frezabird yesterday worth a look is Mudgeeraba town and from there is a winding drive through foresty up to Springbrook National Park & Mountain.

Springbrook National Park covers 6725ha and is in four main sections—Springbrook plateau, Mount Cougal to the south east and Natural Bridge and Numinbah to the west. The plateau has many lookouts with fabulous views while Mount Cougal offers an insight into the area's logging history.

The 'best of all view' was actually called that and the blipfoto shows part of the view from the platform looking towards The Gold Coast.

Afterwards we stopped off at Boomerang Farm Golf Course for a cuppa which was served with a china cup and tea pot! I had a superb coffee and tea cake, all of which was very reasonable (cheap for Australian standard) at $8 (£5).

We followed this off by a drive around Paradise Point about 6 miles from our hotel at Surfers Paradise. The houses and boats look like it's where the wealthy live. A bit like our Cardiff Bay on steroids!
