Sunday Lunch at the Bison Ranch

Many thanks for the comments, hearts and stars on my 1000th Blip yesterday. They are all very much appreciated and put my Blip on Page 1 of Popular for the first time - such a thrill.
More snow pictures today - can't really get away from them at the moment. Hubby and I drove to one of our favourite restaurants for a belated Anniversary lunch. The Bison Ranch is in Czech republic. We always seem to have some sort of hiccough when driving there. Last time the GPS sent us through a holiday area in the forest where cars are forbidden and we couldn't get out using the GPS which didn't know about the ban on cars. We finally found a resident that spoke German who pointed us in the right direction after first telling us off for being there. We made sure we didn't take that route again but one of the roads we wanted was deep in snow and looked like it hadn't been cleared for some time. We were carrying snow chains but we thought it would be better taking another route where maybe the roads had been plowed or salted. We drove a circuitous route to our destination which was slow going as the roads were icy but not deep in snow. Such a difference to Austria as roads between even small towns are usually groomed. We arrived safely and shared a magnificent Tomahawk bison steak whilst overlooking the snowy landscape from a sun filled terrace. The Bison Beer was pretty good, too. The trip home was just as slow. We actually saw a snow plow but it turned off to another road. It was a pretty drive, nonetheless. There were lots of Nordic skiers and deer about. The light was very difficult to shoot in but I have put some images on Flickr if you are interested.
