a lifetime burning

The Abbey at night

A Tuesday evening in Bath - I've been learning about Bath's history from Pete, one of the Lord Mayor's Guides.  The talk focused on transport and the changes that various developments brought to Bath: from its initial reliance on the horse, through to canals, trains, trams and more modern developments.  Along the way we considered aspects of Bath's infrastructure and architecture, together with innovations in postal services etc.

Needless to say, there were also some stops for refreshment, which were very welcome as it was perishingly cold tonight.

I realised once we had been going for about 10 minutes that I should have brought the Nikon and a tripod... but you live and learn.  This is a hand held shot of Bath's Abbey (which is as old as Westminster Abbey) from across the river Avon.
