Husky

The second day of our little adventure to Finland. We were woken by the daylight: you don't need an alarm clock sleeping in a glass-roofed igloo.

We headed off this morning to go on a husky safari. We wrapped up warm and said hello to the six dogs that were game enough to be pulling us. You could see them eyeing us up thinking "this is going to be a heavy load". :) Chris was "driving" and we asked as we set off how to steer. The lady smiled and said "don't worry, they know where they're going!".

They certainly did. We belted off at speed and it was clear the dogs loved running. Beautiful countryside and some interesting moments en route (especially a loud falling out of two dogs pulling a sled behind us and one of our runners rubbernecking the fun behind while running)...

After we parked up I had an opportunity to thank and cuddle each of our six huskies. We then had the joy of meeting some husky puppies - at one point I had three piled on me trying to chew my belt. Brilliant.

It was basically dark again at 3pm so we had a snooze before out for dinner. A lovely snowy day.
