The light

Well, this could have been a lovely scenic view of beautiful beaches, but I decided finally that this blip had to be . . . Plett.

And on a cloudy day! Yes there were clouds and, moments after I took this, there were gusts of wind that had everyone hastening to bring in chairs and signs that were in danger of blowing away. And there were a few spots of rain. This was Plett on a ‘bad day’!

Plettenberg Bay is a great place and one we have grown to love over the years. It actually has a long history and is a very mixed community, but it is also ‘the playground’ of the affluent from Cape Town and Johannesburg. Fortunately they are mainly here over the Christmas period and have gone home now. A bit like Keswick after the summer! A bit!

Plett is known for its beaches and there are lots of beautiful, pristine beaches, with crashing waves, that are a joy to walk on and by, but in the end we love living here. To go for coffee, wander and shop, walk by the sea and then return to our brilliant apartment and relish the light that comes in from every window and balcony.
