Life through the lens...

By ValC

Odd one out.

After yesterday's awful weather, we were lucky to wake up to sunshine.
Although only 3C it was perfect walking weather.
We met our group at New Pudsey Station, and so for once Pudsey Ramblers did a walk starting from Pudsey.
Good for us as it was only a 15 mins. drive from home.
Our walk of 8.5 miles took us through woods and across fields down to the Leeds Liverpool Canal. That is where this photo was taken.
At first I thought there were three swans, but then realised the last one was a white goose.
The swans just seemed to be gliding along gracefully, but the poor goose was paddling like mad to keep up with them. Quite comical.

Part of the walk was along the Leeds Country Way and took us through woods, and across farmland.
On the higher ground you could see the city of Leeds in the distance. ( see extra)
Nice to walk somewhere different, and yet so close to home.

Unfortunately no pub or cafe at the end of the walk, so it was back home, where we are now having a cuppa, and some more of the ginger marmalade cake I made yesterday, which is now nearly all gone.
