Office Space*

The Lloyd Tower office block is connected to the mall via a sky bridge.  The bridge on the mall side is connected to the old Nordstrom department store that's now been empty for I think two years now.  During the week when the office building is open you can walk through the defunct Nordstrom to the sky bridge to get back to your office, it's a bizarre route through the main floor of the store where the perfumes, cosmetics, shoes, accessories, menswear all used to be.  They have it carefully partitioned so you (sadly) can't go wandering off into empty store, one is kept strictly within a walkway with low temporary walls so you can at least see the space and there's always a guard stationed there, I've wanted to photograph the empty store but have been put off by this guard.  Oh well.  Instead, this is basically the off-ramp of the skybridge heading toward the upper lobby of the office building if you follow the guy on the left.  The sky bridge and this area is often busy with folks having their lunch or taking a coffee break at certain times, but at 4 p.m. it was dead.  The two level lobby is really dated and not very attractive, but I kind of like it.

Bitterly cold with a driving wind, really unpleasant.  We're due more snow and ice tomorrow, apparently.

*A very funny movie, a house favorite.
