The 14th Day

"The first 100 days of Trump" from The (God bless 'em) Guardian, documenting the insane trajectory of the President who governs by tweet (averaging 13 per day so far).

For any furriners out there, the kind we wouldn't let into our fabulous country (I mean, it's really really terrific, believe me, too bad you're not worthy to set foot on the streets paved with gold), this feature in The Guardian is a great, readable summary that will one day form the basis for a book called "The Rise and Fall of the American Empire."

Today makes two weeks in Trumpland, and the newspaper hasn't yet had time to add the latest hair-raising announcement. Separation of Church and State will henceforth be abolished. A law known as the Johnson Amendment (for LBJ) allows houses of worship to operate tax-free as long as they refrain from promoting (or deriding) political candidates or parties. Under our new administration, they will keep their tax-free status AND gain the ability to tell their constituents—and anyone else who will listen—how to vote. If you don't know how dangerous this is to our democracy, keep reading The Guardian and The New York Times. El Naranja has now proclaimed war on the Johnson Amendment.

Congressional Republicans:
Are you willing to risk your reelection in order to save your country?
That's what patriotism requires of you.
Are you a patriot, or not?
