Orange Delight

We were treated to a beautiful sunrise this morning.  The mountain in the background is Mt Iron, and the pool of water is the mouth of Stoney Creek.  The lake was rippled, but that didn't stop the rowers from heading out for their training run (or is it a row?)

I have started to see athletes training for the Breca race that is being held in Wanaka on the 25th March.  It is a swimrun race for a team of 2.  You wear your wet suit for the run as well as the swim.  The race starts with a run, followed by a swim.  It alternates like this throughout the race.  When you swim, as well as your wet suit you must wear your running shoes.  All up the swim is for 6 k's, and the run for 36 k's.  There are a few points along the track where you can see the athletes, so I plan to be there taking photos.  I saw a couple of people out running in their wet suits this morning, which reminded me of the event coming up.  This is the first time that this Swimrun race is being held in New Zealand.  It will be cancelled if the lake is too rough.

Friday is job day, so I have mown the lawns, and got a load of washing on the line.  The wind has sprung up, so it will be dry in no time.

Another Friday, so another weekend.  I hope yours is a good one.
