Thankfully they're wrong. Blue skies this morning for today's trip to the final dress rehearsal of "Adriana Lecouvreur" at Covent Garden.

Angela Gheorghiu was due to sing the title role but, surprise surprise, she was "unwell". That meant that the soprano due to take over the role towards the end of the run was given an early debut. Hrachuhi Bassenz, from Armenia, was stunning. A bit wobbly in Act One but she flourished and had us all entranced by the dramatic Act Four. A star is born....
