Looking upwards

A bracing walk in Largs today. Good to get some fresh air and a good number of steps clocked up on my Fitbit.

Largs' most famous monument is The Pencil, situated at the end of the promenade walk, near the marina. The Pencil was built in 1912, to commerate the Battle of Largs in 1263, when the Scots defeated King Haco of Norway's troops on the shore at Largs, after the 160 long ships got caught in a storm.

I couldn't get the whole image in the photo so I stood against the base of The Pencil and pointed the camera up!
