Hunter in the reeds

We often see these majestic birds on our walks around Ferry Meadows and today was no exception. This handsome heron stood his ground as we passed by. M and I managed to walk five miles before downing a welcome cup of hot chocolate at the café on the lake. A fantastic afternoon, full of good things, in contrast to what is going on in the world in general.
