Sparks flying

After the usual Saturday of shopping and visits I returned home to find Sean the stone mason resuming work after the winter break. There's a small corner of the garden wall which could not be accessed easily last autumn when the apple tree was in fruit and the raspberry canes not pruned back. As it is relatively mild he's making a start.

We got diverted onto finishing off the patio area with a storm drain to get rid of pooled water and cementing in fence post holders so we can put up a trellis.

We needed to shave some flanges off the metal posts to get a flush fit. A great shower of sparks ensued. I didn't want to get too close!

Posts were cemented in by nightfall so tomorrow may get the trellis up.

Then the evening was spent thinking through some issues ahead of Monday's Board meeting, aided by a takeaway.
