In the dunes and on the beach

The mouth of the Ythan estuary with its surrounding sand dunes is a pretty idyllic place.

However, danger lurks in unexpected places.The "extra" shows a colourful pile of nets on the beach that have been lost from a fishing boat. This is not only an expensive business for the fishermen but also poses a serious danger to seals and cetaceans which can get entangled in them.
