Flutter Butter

This is the most recent feeder acquisition in the elder tree.  You buy a jar of bird peanut flutter butter (from a range of flavours) and screw it in to the holder.  The visitors to the tree were wary of it for a few days but now it has become popular with the coal tits almost disappearing inside it!  This blue tit is stocking up before sundown.

I've had a couple of hours in the garden this morning, cutting back the dead stuff and sweeping up the leaves which catch in the 'corridor' in front of the extension.  It was good to see spring bulbs beginning to push through and the buds on the clematis emerging.  I'd still like to see some snow, though, before the spring arrives for real!
