NECTAR IS GOOD....

... but the day is as predicted - damn hot again 40 deg C!

Needed to go over to Penrith this morning (as Dads do) to help our son. His air stopped after a power surge in the heat last night. Thankfully after talking with a couple of air con mechanics (they of course all flat out due the heat wave and could only offer advice for a week) but I found from the advice it just needed a couple of replacement fuses, and away it went.

So, on the way back home went via the mighty Nepean River and found this Eastern Spinebill flitting around sucking in the nectar. Thanks to the info on Birds in Backyards.

Then this arvo had a really BIG surprise email!

Had entered some pics in the 2016 Australian Photography's Photographer of the year competition. And blow me down, the ones entered in the "Nature" section received a "Commended Award" !
Well, feeling the love must say, considering 8,000 some pics entered overall.

Had Blipped a couple of those entered and and this little guy one of them.

Enjoy, and have a look in LARGE
