Charing Cross from South Bank

A very pleasant walk through the Vinters Valley Park Nature Reserve took us to Notcutts Garden Centre for this month's free coffee. A lovely spring-like morning with the birds singing at the tops of their voices and a great spotted woodpecker hammering in nearby trees.

A bit of fiddling around in the afternoon prior to a trip up to the South Bank in London for the annual Transatlantic Session concert. It was as excellent as it always is, an ensemble of 17 or so musicians from the UK and America playing a whole range of Bluegrass and other roots type music led by Ally Bain from Scotland and Jerry Douglas from the States.

Drove to Mottingham, caught train to Charing Cross, an enjoyable pizza before the show and a quick and efficent journey home amde the evening very good indeed
