A Day at Dawyck

My husband is a very lucky (or cunning) man. Our wedding anniversary, my birthday and Valentine's day all fall in the same week. One bunch of flowers and/or box of chocolates covers all the bases! (I do anticipate a birthday present, or else ..) 

Today is the wedding anniversary, so we went out for lunch and then to Dawyck - a beautiful botanic garden and arboretum near Peebles. We were far too early for the rhododendrons but there were great drifts of snowdrops, and amazing displays of lichen hanging from bare tree branches. 

We walked up to the top and down, and hardly saw another soul, or heard a sound, other than the birds and the burn tumbling along. A good day!
