Early morning light in the Golden Valley

When I got up I looked out of the window as usual and saw the lovely play of light under the distant clouds. The mists were still swirling on the hilltops and smoke from house chimneys settled over the tree tops. The bright winter sunlight still shines at a low angle and shafts formed on gaps between clouds. This is the view soon after from my study window.

In the afternoon thick cloud blanketed the land intermittently producing a fine drizzle. I went to the cabin and took a picture of one of the flowers of the Black-eyed Susan plant which I have been over wintering in the now warmer cabin. I've added it to the 'Extra photos'.
