This little church belongs to another branch of Kiki's family, cousins of Maria and Eva. Dedicated to St Raphael it is way off the beaten track and so is left unlocked. Treat! I know that the family are very fond of this church and they love to come here to celebrate Easter, frequently inviting others to join them. The decoration here appears very much home-made and I expect that the children may have been party to decision-making, Barbie-pink curtains, bows and silk roses are very unusual for a church interior. Most unusual is the way the church is attached to the house and there is a window between the two so that you could, if you wished, watch the service from the kitchen. The window is now locked but twas not always so.

I do not know whether Tony, an ex-pat, ever came here, but it is highly likely that he did. He attached himself to this family like a brother and they all love him dearly. Today we heard that he died last night in Manchester having been taken desperately ill here in October. The family is planning a memorial service in the village and are hoping one day his ashes will be brought back.
