Here we have a very grand walled estate incorporating a private church. The former owner we are told was a Greek politician called Christos who preferred to be called Christina. We are also told that he used to surround himself with beautiful young men and he had a sister who would scowl like a dog. These days the estate is locked and I had no intention of climbing over walls to get a closer look. A sign up the road tells me that the church is dedicated to Saints Eftychios and Fotini and Google tells me that Eftychios was the Patriarch of Constantinople who is celebrated on 6th April and that Fotini is also known as the Great Martyr and also the Samaritan. She is celebrated on 26th February.
