Down by the river

This morning I managed to find a path along the far side of the River Nidd near Knaresborough that I haven't followed before. It was rather muddy (an understatement) and there were lots of rather rickety wooden platforms along the bank which are obviously used by fishermen/anglers. There was no one fishing there today and the river seemed very quiet.
A strong gust of wind could be all it takes for the leaning tree in this photograph to topple into the water.
It was also freezing cold, and about half an hour later the skies were grey again and there were flurries of sleet and snow.
