Arthington Viaduct

Thae Arthington Viaduct takes the Harrogate -Leeds railway over the River Wharfe a few miles south of Harrogate. Also known as the Castley Viaduct, it was built around 1849 and is a Grade II listed structure.
I have been meaning to photograph this one for a while, but wasn't sure of the best spot to do it from. It was very muddy underfoot this afternoon, and a bit more sunshine and a blue sky would have helped. I think a return trip in summer to get some better photos is on the cards.

I did wait a while in the hope of catching a train passing over, but one did not come. As soon as I packed away my camera and headed off, one did appear!
I have included a couple of different views in today's extra photos.
