Pillbox Pond

Recent rains and generally damp weather mean that there is now far more water in the pond beside the pillbox within the Parkland at Sheffield Park than at any time since its restoration during the summer of last year.

Meanwhile (see today's 'Extra'), waterweeds (a species of Callitriche, or Water Starwort possibly?) are visible in the extraordinarily clear water of the surrounding drainage ditches.
