Die Wiesbadentine Küche

Attempting to pun in Denglisch - we painted the kitchen ceiling and it does not look anything like the Sistine Chapel.

We'll have some remedial work to do once the new kitchen is in - just not enough time to get everything done beforehand.  But it's ready for the installers tomorrow.

Germany has a new President - Frank-Walter Steinmeier. 

He's not as interesting as the process to elect him.  It's not down to the voter on the street to vote for him.  Nope.  You have to be a member of the Bundesversammlung (Federal Convention) to vote for the President.  And the Bundesversammlung is made up of the all the MPs and an equal number of state delegates elected by the  'Länder' parliaments specifically for this purpose, proportional to their population.  And some states nominate "celebrities" to the convention (e.g. Jogi Löw* was nominated by the Green Party in Baden-Württemberg).

Steinmeier won on the first round of voting (it can go to three rounds). 

I think the paint we used has had some sort of effect on me.  I can definitely see Yoshi in this Blip.
