Scottland on Sunday
Dull, but dryish.
We went to Galashiels, where I bought a bunch of tulips to brighten the day, and TM tried to lay in his birthday and Valentine's day offerings without me noticing.
The idea of a walk at Abbotsford appealed, but when we got there it was beginning to snow, ever so lightly.
The house is quite a pile, in the Scots Baronial style, all turrets and crow-step gables. It is closed for the winter, so we looked at the exhibition in the Visitor Centre, which is small but gives a good idea of the life of Sir Walter Scott and his influence on the Scotland of his time. Not to mention his legacy - tartan and tourism, we owe a lot of it to him.
Then it was upstairs for a photograph from the verandah, and coffee and scones. You get two each, and they are warm!
