Crazy Rectory Rhoddie

Ever since I first saw it, some 40 years ago, flowering away through all these dreich Dunoon Februaries, I've thought this was a wonderfully crazy variety of rhododendron. (You see - I didn't mean that the Rectory was crazy). When I felt the biting NE wind this morning as I scurried from the chilly church after the service, I had this feeling that I might not be out later to take better photos - besides, there was the Rugby to seduce and disappoint. So here's the mad shrub again, now towering over the Rectory at Holy Trinity Dunoon, as the wind creaks the trees and swirls round the departing congregation.

And no, I didn't set out to introduce as many alliterations as possible ...
