Research & Development

This hidden park, behind the new university/shops/tower-block development, used to be the founder of Carlsberg's back garden. When he (Jacobsen) died he willed that his house always be occupied by an eminent researcher or artist of the day, to be selected by his trust fund. The Carlsberg Fund have now built 22 apartments to extend the offer to even more scientists, historians and other academics. Each apartment has been exclusively furnished by the Danish equivalent of Harrods (Illums Bolig Hus*).

* Based in the longest shopping street in the world, Illums Bolig Hus is well worth a visit to get your fix of Danish design and prices that'll make your jaw drop. Mrs Cph works there.
