Making a Difference

Great sense of achievement for Jamie today as he took toys and games, sensory aids and useful stuff to Buxton Ward at NNUH where he has spent a fair bit of time in the last few months.  We were met by the head of fundraising and the deputy director of nursing who presented a certificate to mark Jamies' contribution.  Jamie donated his Christmas money and set up a JustGiving page to ask others to help him raise funds.  Lots of carefully selected items which will be enjoyed by many children over the months ahead ..... and by Play Specialists Jade and Steve who work so hard to make the hospital a friendly place.

In other news Ruth had a successful outcome to her follow up meeting with the Vice Principal at college.  She is having an extended trial in a different residence building - looks like a good move - and was very upbeat when I spoke to her.

Sunshine today and more promised for the morrow .....  I was going to write "things are looking up at last.  Long may it last!"  - but even as I went to hit Publish a phone call from home tells me an Ambulance is on it's way after Jamie went dizzy and cannot lift his arms :-(
