Big Grey Lizard

It was another pile of rocks today, this time Mayan and at Edzna - more northern than the others so far.
We modified our plans from yesterday so, rather than do a day of four hours each way in the car, we have booked to stay at Kalukmul tomorrow night and the one after in a jungalow!

Back to today!
These ruins are not as extensive as ones we have seen already, but equally impressive. They are also off the general tourist tracks and so considerably quieter than others. It was incredibly hot and so finding shade whenever possible was vital. I will put some pics of the ruins in my Facebook page.

The lizards were everywhere on the site. Their camouflage is superb and were it not for the noise they make scuttling amongst the dead leaves, we would not see them. They vary considerably in size but I don't know whether that's age, sex or species that makes the difference; they were very cute though!

Tomorrow we head off for the jungle, more ruins and lots of creatures too. We will not have email so I probably won't be able to blip or use Facebook for a few days. See you all sometime!
