A Story About Cream

It's another one of those things where what goes in Britain doesn't go here.

I'm cooking tonight and for one part of dinner I needed cream for one part of it. In Britain there is Single, Double, Whipping and Sour Cream to choose from. I expected something similar here but there isn't. It's either whipping cream (Schlagsahne) or Saure Sahne (sour cream). For some reason, that caught me out.

Anyway, as a treat I'm doing scallops with a cauliflower puree. We won't be eating scallops every night, I had a very Yorkshire, internal "How much?" moment when I saw how much they cost. The cauliflower puree better taste blimmen wonderful as well.

Oh and as I queued I noticed from the DVDs at the checkout. It's not The Smurfs here, it's Die Schlümpfe.
