Santa María del Tule

Commonly referred to as "the Tule tree," (I assume because it is located in the town of Tule) is estimated to be more than 2000 years old.

Statistics:
Sabina (Spanish)
Ahuehuete (náhuatl, means "old man of the water" because it is often found along streams)
taxodium mucronatum
circumference 58 meters
height 42 meters
diameter 14.5 meters

During our excursions to outlying areas of Oaxaca, we have indeed seen many of these trees alongside small mountain rivers, though none are nearly as gigantic as this!
