Hiking Friday

Today we drove to Castalla and hiked from Xorret de Catí to cumbre del Despeñador. We had two possible routes in mind and this was the one we found. After visiting the place and looking at the maps and instructions available this was more interesting route to start with.

Before  hiking the route we visited the lookout of Catí to see the view. If it had been a clear day we would have been able to spot Santa Pola in the horizon even if we drove almost an hour to get to the mountain.

The weather was colder in the mountain. Passing clouds could have dropped some showers too, but they all passed by. At the peak we even saw a bit of sun for few minutes.

Very nice hike. We climbed only 350 meters to reach the peak at 1261 meters. So most of the climbing was done with a motor. We still spent almost 3 hours on the trails.

Dogs are sound a sleep now. They do deserve their naps. We still have the evening walk to look forward to.

Yesterday evening I was wondering about the hiking blog. As soon as I wrote it down I knew that I will do it. It will need to be updated with old hikes too and I need to add some writing in Finnish, but otherwise it's a start. I think it'll be nice to have the information somewhere in handy.

Here's the start: https://hikingalicante.wordpress.com/
