He made my day!

If I am correct, this little bird is a red-breasted nuthatch, the very first one I have seen. I've seen plenty of white-breasted nuthatches. They are all over the place in the park and even at my feeders, but I have NEVER seen this one until yesterday. They are not rare. I've read that they do nest in Ohio, but they are rare in my back yard and anywhere else I've been. I guess elusive is the best word to describe them.

Not only did he show up at my feeder yesterday, he returned today and posed like a pro. I had eight bird blips that made me happy, and any one of them could have been my blip for today, but this little fellow gets the honors. As small and unassuming as he is, this bright-eyed little birdie made my day!
