I remember my mum had a Olivetti typewriter at home and every now & then she used to practice. She also loved doing shorthand for her notes and nobody else could read them. During WW2 she worked in Rolls Royce as secretary and was always reminding us that she worked beside Gordon Jackson the Scottish actor before he was famous.
